DRESS REHEARSAL
9:00am Saturday, June 1, 2019
Parents and students should enter through the gate located behind Briarwood and sit in the audience with your class. You are also encouraged to take time to become familiar with where your assigned dressing area is for the performance later in the day. There will be faculty members ready to assist you. Show order will be posted at the studio. Please check with your child’s teacher to find out when you need to arrive for dress rehearsal. If you are last in the order, you need not arrive at 9:00. However, we cannot wait for latecomers to arrive to rehearse. If you are late, you will miss your rehearsal. Dress rehearsal is mandatory! It is helpful to come dressed in your costume. Please have the costume, head piece, appropriate tights and hairstyle at the dress rehearsal. No make-up is necessary for the rehearsal. You may take photos and video at the dress rehearsal. Once your class has rehearsed and been dismissed by your teacher, you are dismissed. You must be back at the theatre at 1:00 for the performance.
PERFORMANCE
Dancers must be back at the theatre at 1:00pm. Enter through the stage door with only ONE parent. After drop off, others will go around to the front entrance. Please take your child to the assigned dressing area, finish touch-ups and head to the audience. There will be one helper assigned to sit with each class performing in the 2pm show. They are experienced in backstage life and will be able to get any dancers changed to a 2nd costume. Be sure to tell that person your child is in multiple dances. Additionally, faculty members are manning the dressing areas, assisting where necessary. Please bring a blanket or towel for them to sit on as well as some quiet activities such as books, puzzles, cards, board games, or coloring books and crayons (no markers). Electronic games are permitted but Briarwood High School nor the Alabama Dance Academy can be responsible for loss or damage to them. Eating and drinking in costume is not allowed. A water bottle is permitted but nothing that can stain a costume. Please remove all jewelry and nail polish before arriving at the theatre. It is always a good idea to pack some extra hair pins and hairspray as well as make-up for touch-ups. Dancers should wear stage make-up that includes brown eyeshadow, mascara, blush and reddish lipstick. Glitter is prohibited.
No dancer is permitted to leave the performance before it is over. There is a finale where all dancers are onstage and you will be able to pick up your child from the stage at the conclusion of the show.
NO DANCERS ARE PERMITTED IN THE AUDIENCE DURING THE SHOW IN COSTUME.
Video taping and photography are prohibited during the performance. We will have DVD's for sale of each performance.
Saving seats between the dress rehearsal and the performance is not allowed. Any seat markers left will be collected between rehearsal and performance. Seats are not assigned and the house opens approximately 30 minutes prior to curtain.

DRESS REHEARSAL
WEDNESDAY, MAY 29, 2019 – BEGINS AT 4:00
Enter through the stage door located at the gate at the back of the building and sit in the audience with your class. You are also encouraged to take time to become familiar with where your assigned dressing area is for the performance. You may change in your dressing area if you have multiple dances. There will be faculty members ready to assist you. It is helpful to come dressed in your first costume. Please have the costume, head piece, appropriate tights and hairstyle at the dress rehearsal. No make-up is necessary for the rehearsal. You may take photos and video at the dress rehearsal. Once your class has rehearsed and been dismissed by your teacher, you are dismissed. Every effort will be made to start the 8pm dress rehearsal as close to 7:00 as possible. However, if a problem arises, we could be running late. Your patience is very much appreciated. You must be back at the theatre at 4:00pm Saturday for the 5:00 performance and 7:00pm for the 8:00 performance. Dress rehearsal and performance days can be stressful to everyone. Please organize costumes, tights, shoes, etc. early and it will eliminate some of that stress. Also, we have many volunteers helping backstage enforcing both our rules and those of Briarwood High School. I ask that everyone be kind to them.
